My name is Payden Buchanan, and I am the proud owner of Custom Key Creations. I am currently 18 years old and I have a dream to become an entrepreneur like my grandfather, Matt Buchanan. My Grandpa started a company called, US Weight, and was a very successful business owner. Keyboards have always been a fascination in my life, for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was young I have loved going to Evansville, IN, going into BestBuy and clicking all of the keyboards, loving the loud, clicky noise and all of the cool lights that light up on the keyboards. Looking back at these memories around last year I finally bought a mechanical gaming keyboard. This keyboard was an all-electric blue plastic deck with blue mechanical switches and electric blue keycaps. This keyboard was pretty good but I knew I could make a better one, so in June of 2023 I bought a broken keyboard for $40 from a friend of mine; I thought surely I could make this keyboard work and use it because this was an outstanding performance keyboard that was originally $200. I took it apart, swapped out a few switches, and figured out that the motherboard in the keyboard was destroyed because my friend spilled water in it. I thought that I could switch out the switches and keycaps on my keyboard with the ones on this keyboard and make mine better. That's when I realized I had a passion and talent for building keyboards.
